Spring is Warsaw's quiet argument for itself. The Old Town and Royal Route look the same as they do in the July crowds, but you get them with room to breathe, mild walking weather by mid-spring, and parks working through a genuine bloom season — cherry trees, magnolias, and lawns coming back green after a long grey winter.
The catch is consistency: March often still feels like winter's tail end, and even a warm April afternoon can cool sharply by evening. By late May, though, Warsaw has essentially eased into its warm season, and the shift from empty parks to full terraces happens fast.

It's worth setting expectations for what spring in Warsaw doesn't yet include. The seasonal beach bars and river barges that define the Vistula boulevards in summer generally aren't in full swing until closer to June, so an April or early-May visit will find the riverside pleasant for a walk but quieter than the postcard version of Warsaw's summer nightlife. Similarly, the University of Warsaw Library's roof garden only reopens for the season on 1 April, so a very early spring trip should check that date before building a day around it.
None of this makes spring a lesser season — if anything, it's a preview with room to breathe.
